We are excited to announce that our upcoming 5-day STEMLeap camp will take place at the prestigious Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST). Known for its excellence in STEM education, TJHSST provides the perfect environment for our hands-on, interactive learning sessions.
Dates: The camp will be held during FCPS spring break!
Running from Tuesday, April 15th to Saturday, April 19th.
Time: Each day, the camp will start at 9 AM and conclude at 2 PM (12PM on final day), offering a full day of engaging activities and learning opportunities.

Eligibility

Grade Levels: The STEMLeap camp is designed for students entering grades 5 through 8. This range allows us to tailor our activities and learning experiences to suit the developmental stages and educational needs of middle school students.
Interest in STEM: We encourage students who have a genuine interest in STEM subjects and a curiosity about the world around them to apply. Whether your child is already passionate about science and technology or is just beginning to explore these fields, our camp provides a nurturing environment to cultivate their enthusiasm.
Location: Participants should be able to commute to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) in Alexandria, VA. The school’s convenient location and accessible facilities make it an ideal venue for our camp.

Day 2: Computer Science and Engineering
Day 3: Physics and Astronomy
Academic Presentations: Learn about current research, future impacts, and essential background knowledge.
Hands-On Experiments: Participate in activities like bridge building, CAD and programming, and chemical experiments.
Competitions: Engage in friendly competitions related to each field of study.
Final Day Project
Select a Favorite Activity: Choose and explore an activity from the week.
Research Presentation: Create and present a project using the scientific method and communication skills for a chance to win a prize.
Program Cost

We strive to make our STEMLeap camp accessible and affordable for all participants. The cost of the camp is approximately $4 per hour per person, which totals to $100 for the entire duration of the camp. This fee covers four days of immersive STEM learning and hands-on activities.
The costs will be allocated as follows:
Experiment Materials: Ensuring high-quality, engaging, and safe materials for all our experiments and activities.
Food: Providing nutritious snacks and meals to keep our participants energized and focused throughout the day.
Prizes: Offering exciting prizes to encourage participation and reward achievements.
Future Content: Supporting the development of future workshops and educational content to continue our mission of empowering young minds in STEM.
